Valley of the Moon boule players were introduced to Petanque through the Sonoma's Sister City relationship with the French village of Chambolle-Musigny. In 1998, local players including John Bouldt, Pierre Joske, and John Kemble (formerly of Ravenswood Winery) organized a club. They named their organization The Valley of the Moon Petanque Club and Petanque soon became a part of wine country living. Today, the VOMPC is a diverse group of Petanque enthusiasts, male and female, all ages and backgrounds -- one of the largest and most active Petanque clubs in the United States. VOMPC is a member of the FPUSA. |
